Network cable fault-finding on site
A close look at cable diagnostics, using a handheld tester to examine the connections in a data cable.

Diagnostic-stage photograph: a handheld cable tester connected to the data cable.
The work shown
This photograph captures a network cable check using a handheld Pro’sKit tester. The cable is connected to the instrument while its wire-map display is reviewed. It documents a diagnostic step, rather than a completed network handover.
Why cable checks matter
An unreliable connection can involve the cable, its connectors, patching or connected equipment. Checking the cable connections helps narrow down the source of a problem before repairs are agreed. A cable’s wire map is one part of the assessment; the connection still needs to be considered in the context of the wider network.
